Scienceuticals has announced the addition of in-house microbiological testing for its contract manufactured personal care products in both its Summerville, SC and Reno, NV facilities. By performing these tests on-site, the development cycle of Scienceuticals customers’ products is shortened by up to two weeks. Also, as a result of eliminating the cost of outsourcing these tests, customers will receive their products at lower costs.

The sooner the product has passed the testing, the quicker it is able to be packaged and shipped to the customer. In turn, customers are able to bring their products to the market faster and more efficiently. In addition to Scienceuticals’ current testing capabilities, including stability and compatibility, microbiological testing will expand the company’s productivity and increase customer satisfaction. This microbiological testing capability is in addition to other testing that Scienceuticals currently offers, including stability and compatibility.
Microbiological testing is needed to ensure that microorganisms don’t grow and reproduce during the shelf life of the personal care products developed and manufactured by Scienceuticals. If organisms are allowed to replicate, they could cause spoilage, chemical changes, or even injury to the user of the product.
Scienceuticals is using 3MTM technology to conduct the microbiological testing, including 3M PetrifilmTM Plates. This AOAC® Official MethodSM yields Yeast and Mold and Total Aerobic plate counts. In addition to testing customers’ products, Scienceuticals also uses the setup perform environmental testing on our production and batching equipment

Mario Badescu Skin Care, a leading manufacturer of skin care and acne treatment products, as well as operator of a 36 room New York City beauty salon, has extended its distribution to include Beauty 360, a new luxury beauty chain owned by CVS/pharmacy. Beauty 360’s introduction of Mario Badescu’s product line coincides with the opening of their third store, located in Ridgefield, CT.
Beauty 360 aims to offer an upscale shopping destination giving customers a unique experience. Setting the store apart from other beauty retailers is the ultra-modern décor and organization.
